Figure 1 diagrams the administrative organization of the Institute. The co-directors of the institute report directly to the administrative advisory committee. The Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC) consists of the Dean of Engineering, Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Vice President of Research and the Graduate School, Director of the Brain Institute, and the Associate Vice President of Research. The OAC reviews and advises on decisions of the co-directors with regard to expenditures of indirect costs and other fiscal issues and initiatives. The OAC will meet at least quarterly. Annual progress reports will be delivered to the OAC members.

Figure 1 – Administrative Structure of the Nanoscience and Technology Institute The External Advisory Board (EAB) is made up of scientists and engineers from outside the University, and may be from academia or industry. The EAB will meet annually on campus to evaluate the institute’s progress, focus, directions, and initiatives. They will provide recommendations on future directions and priorities. Ideally, they will also serve to help represent the institute to the outside world and help with nationally visibility Institute activities.
