Summer Research Programs Welcome the REU and RET Programs

of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee

      10:00 am Arrive at University of Florida

                  Disembark at corner of Stadium Road and North-South Drive.

 

      10:00-11:30 am Microkelvin Laboratory

                  Tours of ultra-low-temperature experimental facilities led by members of the research staff.

 

                  One group of 20 will enter the Microkelvin Laboratory immediately on arrival, while another will

                    be invited to visit the UF Bookstore located next door. The two groups will switch at 10:45 am.

 

11:30-11:45 am Walk to Physics

 

11:45-12:45 pm Physics Department

            Lunch with participants in the UF Physics REU/RET, Chemistry REU, and US/France

            REU programs (Room 2205 New Physics Building).

1:00-2:30 pm Brain Institute

                  Introduction to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), presentation of research using MRI,

            and tour of magnet facilities, led by Prof. Tom Mareci, UF Department of Biochemistry

            and Molecular Biology.

 

      2:30-2:45 pm Walk to Chemistry Laboratory Building

 

2:45-4:00 pm Chemistry Department

                   Meet at East side Atrium of Chemistry Laboratory Building.

             Five groups will be formed. Each group will rotate through three of the research labs as follows:
