Sat May 27 noon Earliest check-in time at Apartment Residence Facility.
Tue May 30   FIRST DAY OF REU PROGRAM.
    9:30 am Campus tour for non-UF participants. Meet at main desk of Apartment Residence Facility.
    11:30 am Orientation meeting for all REU participants (2205 NPB).
    noon Welcome lunch in Physics for participants, faculty mentors, and departmental representatives (2205 NPB).
Fri Jun 2 3 pm Computer orientation (1212 NPB).
Sun Jun 4 11 am Picnic at Lake Wauburg for participants in all UF REUs.
Fri Jun 9 all day Field trip to CREOL (University of Central Florida) and Cirent Semiconductor, both in Orlando.
Meet in the loading dock of NPB at 6:30 am.
Fri Jun 16 4 pm Seminar: Getting into Graduate School, Dr. Alan Dorsey, UF Physics (2165 NPB).
Fri Jun 23 8 am to 12:30 pm Symposium on Advanced Materials: Live teleconference between UF and the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris organized by the Chemistry REU program. Attendance optional for Physics REU participants (Brain Institute Auditorium).
Fri Jun 30 4 pm Lab Tour: Guided tour of Rinzler and Meisel laboratories. (meet in lobby of NPB).
Fri Jul 7 2 pm Lab Tour: Guided tour of Hebard laboratory (meet in lobby of NPB).
Tue Jul 11 11:45 am REU/RET Lunch: Meet REU students and RET teachers visiting from the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, as well as UF Chemistry REU students. Lunch provided for all program participants (2205 NPB).
Wed Jul 12 9 am Communications Workshop: First 2-hour session on scientific writing skills presented by Dr. Dianne Cothran, UF Center for Written and Oral Communication (2165 NPB).
Wed Jul 12 3:30 pm Joint REU seminar: Prof. Jim Brooks, Florida State University and NHMFL, will talk about research at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, focusing on contributions made by summer students, and in some cases the damage they have caused (1002 NPB).
Fri Jul 14 1 pm Field trip to UF Brain Institute. (Meet in main lobby of New Physics Building at 12:45 pm.)
Tue July 18 all day Field trip to National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee. (Meet outside ARF at 7:15 am or in parking lot north of Chemistry Laboratory Building at 7:25 am. We should be back on campus around 6 pm.)
