Research Experiences for Undergraduates

REU students with Alan Dorsey The Department of Physics at the University of Florida offers a 10-week summer research program for undergraduates (REU). These activities are supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The Summer 2001 REU program ran from Tuesday May 29 through Friday August 3. Fifteen participants conducted a research project in the department and took part in group activities, which included seminars on cutting-edge areas of physics; workshops focusing on graduate programs, career opportunities in the physical sciences, and scientific communications skills; and a field trip to the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee.
