Summer 2002 Research Program:
Research Experiences for Undergraduates
The Department of Physics at the University of Florida offers a 10-week
summer research program for undergraduates (REU).
These activities are supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The Summer 2002 REU program ran from Tuesday May 28 through
Friday August 2.
Fifteen participants conducted a research project
in the department and took part in group
activities, which included seminars on cutting-edge areas of physics;
workshops focusing on graduate programs, career opportunities in the physical
sciences, and scientific communications skills;
and field trips to the NASA Kennedy Space Center and the National High
Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee.
