Summer Research Program:
Research Experiences for Undergraduates

2010 REU Students

The Department of Physics at the University of Florida offers a 10-week summer research program for undergraduates contemplating a career in physics and related fields. This REU Site is supported by the National Science Foundation Division of Materials Research, the Department of Defense Awards to Stimulate and Support Undergraduate Research Education (DoD ASSURE) program, and the University of Florida.

The Summer 2010 REU program ran from June 1 through August 6. Fifteen participants conducted a research project in the department and took part in group activities including seminars on cutting-edge areas of physics; workshops focusing on graduate programs, career opportunities in the physical sciences, and scientific communication skills; and a field trip to the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee. A list of projects and final reports is available form the link at left.
