CMS DETECTOR EMU SYSTEM
EMU SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Reliable Muon identification up to h = 2.4

  •  
  • Muon Trigger with PT thresholds from

  • a few GeV/c to 100 GeV/c up to h = 2.1
     
  • Standalone muon momentum measurement

  • dPT/PT~ 10-20% up to PT = 100 GeV/c
     
  • Momentum resolution combined with the tracker

  • dPT/PT ~ 2% at PT = 10 GeV/c
                   ~15% at PT = 1 TeV/c
     
  • Muon sign identification with 99% confedence 

  • level upto P = 7 TeV/c (Kinematic Limit)
     
  • Operation in backgrounds with random hit rate

  • up to 1 kHz/cm2
