PHY 2048 - Fall 2006

Announcements

GRADES HAVE BEEN POSTED ON WEBASSIGN!. To find out how you did on the final, look under "past assignments" in the usual way. You will see two columns, each showing half the score you obtained on the final. Next is the "total" which is the sum of all parts of the course (taking into account the drop), and is out of 100. This is what is used to calculate your grade. You can find your grade by getting out of "my assignments" and going to "grades". That gives you the letter grade that has been transmitted to the registrar's office.

If we made a mistake in your score and/or grade, it can be corrected, but the grading scale is non-negotiable.

Here are some statistics.

Highest score on the final: 31/31

Highest score in the course 98.1/100

Number of students getting 90 or more: 24

Number of students within 1 point of a higher grade: Approx 50

The old white sheets are kept in the cabinets in room 1100. We expect to post the final solutions soon.

The total score from the discussion section quizzes is available on WebAssign. the score is out of 8. (8/8 gives you 8% of your final grade). If you think we have made a mistake, please first contact your TA.

The total score obtained from the homework is now available. There were 229 questions, which gave a maximum 22% of the grade. The entry in WebAssign then shows your score out of 22. The class median was just over 20, so most people completed most of the homework.
