Also, your HITT Points are based on the HITT score through 11/07/08 and your HWxQ Points include only the first 8 assignments. Your Total Points are the sum of your HITT Points, your HWxQ Points, and your Exam Points. Remember this is only an estimate, if your performance level changes your grade will change accordingly!
11.09.08 Exam Answers: The correct answers to Exam 2 can be found at the PHY 2048 E-Learning WEBsite. In all cases the first answer is the correct answer.

10.15.08 "Bug" in Problem 9-28: There is a very subtle "bug" in Problem 9-28. WileyPLUS uses the rounded-off answer from part (a) to determine the answer to part (b). For some students, the correct answer is within 2% of the Wiley PLUS answer and the problem will get marked “correct”. However, if the variables in the problem results in a large impulse then the WileyPLUS answer becomes more than 2% off from the correct answer and the problem will get marked "incorrect". Because of this everyone will get full credit for this problem.
9.26.08 HW5 Ch7 Due Date Changed: Because of Exam 1 the due date for HW5 Ch7 has been moved to Saturday October 4 at 11:00pm. The PHY2048 Course Schedule (PDF) has been updated.
9.24.08 "Bug" in Problem 6-7: There is a very subtle "bug" in Problem 6-7. For some of you, the correct answer is within 2% of the Wiley PLUS answer and the problem will get marked "correct". However, if the variables in your problem results in a small acceleration then the WileyPLUS answer becomes more than 2% off from the correct answer and the problem will get marked "incorrect". Because of this everyone will get full credit for this problem.

9.20.08 Quiz and Himework Grades: The PHY 2048 quiz and homework grades can be found at the PHY 2048 E-Learning WEBsite. If you see a mistake please E-mail phy2048@phys.ufl.edu. The statistics shown include the entire PHY2048 class.
9.14.08 Previous Exams: The PHY 2048 exams from Spring 2008 can be found at the PHY 2048 E-Learning WEBsite.
9.10.08 You should be receiving your H-ITT grades by E-mail to your Gatorlink account. If not make sure your Gatorlink account is working correctly (i.e. not over quota). Next check if your remote code appears on the screen. If the remote code appears on the screen, it is not possible for points to be lost by the system. Check your remote ID against the RID number sent to you by the system to be sure you did not mis-register your remote. If that is OK then the only remaining possibility is that your remote is not in fact registering and you are mistaking someone else's remote code for yours. Possible reasons for your remote not registering is that you are not broadcasting on the correct channel or your remote is broken. Come to the lecture auditorium anytime between periods to have Mr. Mocko test your remote. The 20% forgiveness on HITT questions is to allow for such issues so no points you miss are recoverable. This means the sooner you deal with the issue the less points you will continue to miss.
9.05.08 The solutions for the WileyPLUS on-line homework (HW1 Ch1&2) are available at the PHY 2048 WileyPLUS website and at the PHY 2048 E-Learning website. There will be a quiz on HW1 Ch1&2 next week (week of 9/8/08) during your discussion section.
9.03.08 There is a new Direct-To-Student Website for PHY 2048 where you can purchase access to WileyPLUS for $60 (same price as the textbook plus access code). This is for students who did not get an access code to WileyPLUS with their textbook.
8.18.08 Lecture classes and discussion sections start on Monday August 24, 2008. The class schedule shows the lecture material covered, exam dates, and on-line homework problems.
8.18.08 In class graded HITT questions (student response system) begin on Wednesday September 3, 2008, but you should get your remotes sooner for practice questions that will help you to become familiar with the system before the questions starting counting toward your grade. To get credit you must register on the system (see the instructions in the syllabus).
8.18.08 The first on-line homework assignment is due by 11:00pm on Thursday September 4, 2008. You must register on WileyPLUS using the access code that comes with your textbook (see the instructions in the syllabus).
8.18.08 Quizzes begin in the discussion section on Monday September 8, 2008.
