Exam 1 sheets have been placed in the filing cabinet in Rm 1230. Please pick them up and make sure to work out all problems that you have missed---this is extremely important if you want to improve on understanding the past material and be successful with the forthcoming material. | ||||

Today, the Nobel Prize in Physics was given to Francois Englert and Peter Higgs for their prediction of the Higgs boson,
which was discovered last year at CERN by two experiments,
ATLAS and CMS:

UF has made major contribution to the design/construction/operation of the CMS experiment and led the Higgs boson search in this experiment; more on this in the UF news today: http://news.ufl.edu/2013/10/08/higgs-nobel/. Today, students who have properly registered their HITT clickers should have received emails with their HITT quiz scores. If you have not received the email message, your HITT remote is not registered and the bonus points you think you collect will NOT be counted toward your final grade. The HITT roster will be closed for registration on the day of the last lecture. |

There will be an evening review session on Thursday, September 19, at 6:15PM - 8:10PM in NPB 1001. It is not a required session. However, if you have questions on the covered material in general or on specific problems, it is to your benefit to take advantage of this review. | ||||

Yesterday (September 17) students who have properly registered their HITT clickers should have received emails with their HITT quiz scores. Below is the table with clicker IDs that have no association with students. The points collected by these clickers are not lost, but we have no means to know who they belong to. If you see there your clicker ID, your HITT remote is not registered at all or not registered properly. Go to the HITT registration web page and register your clicker. If you did it before, you probably made a mistake---register the clicker again: this time, make sure that there are no typos in the clicker ID number, your e-mail address, and the lecture period you attend.
