 12.1.15 Final Exam Room Assignments: PHY 2048 Final Exam is at 10:00 am-12:00 noon on Saturday, December 12. The room assignments are based on the first letter of your last name as follows:

 12.1.15 The Make-up Exam will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 4-6 pm. The exam will be in rooms 1219 and 1221 on the first floor of the Physics Building (NPB). This exam is only for students that had missed one of the regularly scheduled Exams 1 or 2 and had contacted us to request a make-up exam.
 11.4.15 Exam 2 results are posted on E-Learning. A Projected Grade is posted in the Grade Book. The Projected Grade is based on your Exam 1 and 2, Quizes 1-6, Homework 1-10 and HITT points. It is an estimate of your final grade assuming that you will continue to perform at the same level until the end of the class.
 10.28.15 Exam 2 covers material from Chapters 7,8,9,10, and 11. Chapter 12 is NOT included.

 8.22.15 H-ITT Practice Question on Friday August 28: On Friday August 28 you will be given an H-ITT practice question that will help you to become familiar with the system before the questions start counting for bonus points. The H-ITT questions will begin counting toward your bonus points on Wednesday September 2. Remember, you must register your H-ITT remote here.
 8.22.15 Lecture classes start on Monday August August 24, 2015 (period 4 & 5) in 1001 NPB. The class schedule shows the lecture material covered.
 8.22.15 Discussion sections start on August August 24, 2015. PHY2048 consists of three lectures and one discussion section per week.
 8.22.15 Textbook and WilesPLUS:
The textbook for the course is Wiley (2013), Fundamentals of Physics (with WileyPLUS), Volume 1, 10th Edtion, by: Halliday, Resnick, and Walker. You have two options. You can purchase a hardcopy of the textbook (with access to WileyPLUS) at the bookstore or you can purchase the eBook (with access to WileyPLUS) on-line at Wiley for UF. In either case you must get the access to the WileyPLUS on-line homework. The on-line Homework in this course is graded and will count towards your final course grade. The prices are as follows:

 8.22.15 Students with Disabilities: Students requesting classroom accommodation for disabilities must first register with the Dean of Students Office. The Dean of Students Office will provide documentation to the student who must then provide this documentation to the instructor (Woodard or Matcheva) when requesting accommodation. The Accomodation Test Request (ATR) form must be filled out by the student and the instructor and returned to the Disability Reseource Center (DRC) at least one week before the first exam. The Accommodated Testing Service (ATS) at DRC will then administer all the exams.
 8.22.15 PHY2048 and PHY2048L: Physics with Calculus 1 (PHY2048) and Physics 2048 Lab (PHY2048L) are separate and independent courses. For information about the Physics 2048 Lab go to PHY2048L.
