08-Sept-2010

The H-ITT responses for last week were e-mailed yesterday to your Gatorlink account that you entered while registering your remote. You need to register your remote in order to receive weekly e-mails and get credit for your responses.

30-Aug-2010

A textbook was found after lecture today. If you think it might be yours, please e-mail me (selman AT phys.ufl.edu) with a description of the text.

26-Aug-2010

Students in all sections now have access to E-Learning in Sakai. Yesterday's lecture notes are posted there, and all future lecture notes/powerpoints will be posted there as well.

23-Aug-2010

Notes for the first lecture are placed on the Sakai E-Learning web site under Resources. We are also placing a copy here because it may take a while for the students in the new section to gain access to Sakai E-Learning.

20-Aug-2010

The price of the textbook at the local book stores should now be approximately $60. Please read the Textbook section of this web site before purchasing your book.

18-Aug-2010

This web site is now complete except for the list of TA's, which has yet to be determined.
Prof. Hershfield visited the campus bookstore this morning and found that they were charging much more for the textbook than expected. We have contacted the publisher to try to figure out what is going on.
Those of you who have taken PHY2048 at UF with WileyPlus should already be able to access the book on-line until this is resolved. Students who did not take PHY2048 at UF with WileyPlus should purchase the book on-line as described under the Textbook link at left.

11-Aug-2010

This site is presently under construction and will be finalized before the first day of classes.
General announcements to the class will be found here. Check this area frequently. Discussion sections will meet during the first week.
