Textbook and Homework System

This course will use Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick, Walker 10th edition. PHY2048 uses Volume 1, and PHY2049 uses Volume 2. The WileyPLUS homework system will be used for submitting homework assignments, which are part of the grade.

Combined access to the textbook on-line and the homework system is available through the UF All Access Textbook Program. Specific directions for your course are available here. To use this option, you will go to this web page:

After logging in with your GatorLink username and password, select Opt-In for this course. The book will be billed to your UF account at a cost of $50.

You may also purchase a combined paper copy and a WileyPLUS access code from the UF Bookstore at a cost of $125.

Both the e-book and the homework system are now integrated within Canvas. Do not try to access WileyPLUS from outside of Canvas. To access WileyPLUS and the on-line textbook:

  1. Log into E-Learning and select your Physics course.

  2. Select Modules on the left hand side.

  3. Find the WileyPLUS module.

  4. Select Read, Study, and Practice.

  5. Click the link to open in a new tab.

  6. The first time that you access this site you will be asked for an access code. As noted above, you can purchase a code with the UF All Access Textbook Program or from a local bookstore. If you do not have a code yet, there is a 14 day free trial period so there is no reason to delay starting to read the book and doing the assignments.

  7. You can not have more than one instance of WileyPLUS open at once. Thus, if you try to open two browser tabs with WileyPLUS, you will get an error. If you try to log in from two different computers or browsers, you will automatically be logged out of one instance of WileyPLUS.
