15-Jan-2011

HITT scores were sent out this morning (Sat) by email. All scores were sent but we will only be counting points starting Wednesday, Jan. 12. If you did not receive an email with your HITT score it means that your remote is not registered. Please register it at the link on the left for the class period you are in, P4 or P5.

You should only register your remote for either P4 or P5, but not both because the classes are independent (different number of quizzes sometimes). We see cases where students registered in one class but are attending the other class so their points are not being assigned to them properly. If you are getting 0 or few points in the HITT, please make sure that you register for the correct class. The points are not lost, just unassigned until you register correctly.

14-Jan-2011

Kathleen Kirsch made an announcement in class today that Phi Sigma Rho, the Engineering Sorority, is interested in new women students. Please see their website for upcoming events.

13-Jan-2011

The homework assignments and problems up through the first exam are now posted. The schedule now indicates which lectures Prof. Avery and Hershfield are lecturing. Finally, here is a short YouTube video showing a charged balloon bending a stream of water. It is easy to try at home as well.

10-Jan-2011

Under the Textbook at left, the link for purchasing the Wiley Plus code only has been updated in order to get the UF discount. The price is $30 at checkout, eventhough at some intermediate stages it appears to be $89.95.

7-Jan-2011

If you took PHY2048 last semester, then apparently your Wiley Plus code for the 9th edition works this semester as well, and you do not need to buy a new code.

7-Jan-2011

The E-Learning in Sakai web site is now active. You can find the lecture notes for today's lecture under Resources.

4-Jan-2011
