The Final Exam Outline, as
well as the power point presentations from last weeks classes, have now
been uploaded to the Files section of Canvas. The Exam review will be
held tomorrow, August 3rd, in class.
The homework scores up to HW 12 and your HITT scores have now been
posted on Canvas. Please take a minute to look through these and make
sure they accurately reflect your scores. If you have any questions,
please contact me as soon as possible. Best of luck as you prepare for the Final! |
July 27 | Exam 3 has
now been graded
and the scores uploaded to Canvas. Please take a moment to check and
make sure your score has been uploaded properly.
A histogram of the Exam results, as well as the answer key for the Exam, may be found in the Files section in Canvas. For the Exam key, the correct answer is always the first. |
July 21 |
Please note that the date for the Exam
Review has been moved to Wednesday,
July 22nd, at 5 PM in room 2165. Please come prepared with
questions! If the room fills up, we will try to move to the normal
class auditorium. Exam 3 Outline should be uploaded to the Files section of Canvas shortly.
|
July 17 |
As decided today in class, Exam 3 has been moved from its
original date of Wednesday the 23rd to Friday
the 24th of July, in class. Please remember
to bring a working Calculator (and extra batteries). All other exam
materials will be provided.
In order to accomodate this change in schedule, HW 11 and HW
12 have had their due dates moved up on the course webpage and in
Wiley. Please take a moment to note the earlier due dates for these
homeworks. If you had prior travel plans that will be affected by this
change in Exam date, please send me an email as soon as possible and
let me know. Students who have travel plans or other valid reasons for
missing the Friday Exam will be eligible to take the makeup on August
3rd. I will also hold an Exam Review on Wednesday, July 22nd, at 5 PM in room 2165. Please come prepared with questions! If the room fills up, we will try to move to the normal class auditorium.
|
July 13 | An error in the Course Grading Policy tab has been fixed to
accurately refelct how grades will be calculated for this course. In
particular, it no longer states (incorrectly) that the homework score
is correlated with the quiz score. These will be graded separately.
Please take a moment to review the changes. |
July 9 | An error in the Exam Key has been found. The correct answer
for
problem 9 of the Exam Key should be the fifth answer. The Exam has been
regraded and the scores updated in Canvas. |
July 7 | Exam 2 has
now been graded
and the scores uploaded to Canvas. Please take a moment to check and
make sure your score has been uploaded properly.
A histogram of the Exam results, as well as the answer key for the Exam, may be found in the Files section in Canvas. For the Exam key, the correct answer is always the first. The Course Schedule has also been updated to include HW 13, and the due date of HW 12 modified. Please take a moment to look through the Course Schedule and note the new due dates. |

be held next week, Monday
the 6th of July, in class. Please remember
to bring a working Calculator (and extra batteries). All other exam
materials will be provided.
As for Exam 1, in order to help you prepare for the Exam, a new file caled "Exam 2 Outline" will be added shortly to the Files section in Canvas. It will contain a brief overview of the topics covered in Exam 2. I would recommend looking over the old exam questions and old homeworks, as well as timing yourself to make sure you are completing the questions on time. You will have an average of 5 minutes per question on the Exam. I will also hold an Exam Review on Thursday, July 2nd, at 5 PM in room 2165. Please come prepared with questions! If the room fills up, we will try to move to the normal class auditorium.

Discussion sections start Wednesday, May 13. H-ITT bonus points: We will give several H-ITT practice questions this week to help you to become familiar with the HITT system before the questions start counting for bonus points. The H-ITT questions will count toward your bonus points starting Monday, May 18. See the Register HITT link on the LHS navigation bar for information about registering your remote. Texbook and WilePlus: See the Textbook link on the LHS navigation bar. You must purchase the book plus WileyPlus homework. See the Register WileyPlus link on the LHS navigation bar for registering for WileyPlus. PHY2049 and PHY2049L: Physics with Calculus 1 (PHY2049) and Physics 2049 Lab (PHY2049L) are separate and independent courses. For information about the Physics 2049 Lab go to the Physics Labs page. Students with Disabilities: Students requesting classroom accommodation for disabilities must first register with the Dean of Students Office. The Dean of Students Office will provide documentation to the student who must then provide this documentation to the instructor when requesting accommodation. Then you must print out the PHY2049 Accommodated Test Request (ATR) Form for Summer 2015 (click here for the form). This form must be filled out by the student and returned to the Disability Resource Center (DRC) at least one week before the first exam. The Accommodated Testing Service (ATS) at DRC will then administer all the exams. |
