 12.16.10 Overall Course Grades: The overall course grades (after all exams) are up on the PHY 2054 E-Learning WEBsite. Your HITT Points are your true points for the semester and your Quiz Points include all the quizzes. Your WebAssign HW Points includes all 11 assignments. Your Total Points are the sum of your HITT Points, your Quiz Points, your HW Points, and your Exam Points and have been updated. Your estimated course grade after 1 exam is in column "Course Grade 1", after 2 exams is in column "Course Grade 2", and your final overall course grade is in column "Course Grades 3". The points that were added to your overall quiz grade to make all the TA's have the same average is in column Qadd. The grades are calculated according to the grade formula. If you see a mistake please send E-mail to phy2054@phys.ufl.edu. I will send the grades to the registrar on Sunday morning (December 19)!

 12.13.10 Final Exam Grades: The grades for the Final Exam have been posted on the PHY 2054 E-Learning WEBsite. The average was 12.7 with lots of good scores. Congratulations to those who did well. The final course grades will be available in a few days.
 12.9.10 Comprehensive Review: The PHY 2054 Comprehensive Review is 2:00pm-4:00pm on Friday December 10 in Room 1002 NPB.
 12.7.10 Breakdown of the 8 Cumulative Final Exam Problems: The PHY2054 Final Exam will have 8 cumulative problems (Chapter 15.1-22.7) as follows:

 11.13.10 Breakdown of Final Exam Problems: The PHY2054 Final Exam will have 3 problems from Exam 1 (changed slightly but same concept) and 3 problems from Exam 2 (changed slightly but same concept). It will have 6 problems from the new material (Chapter 23.1-25.6) and it will have 8 cumulative problems (Chapter 15.1-22.7) for a total of 20 problems as follows:

 11.13.10 Cumulative Make-Up Exam: PHY 2054 Make-Up Exam is 5:10pm-7:00pm on Wednesday December 8 in Room 1216 NPB. It is for anyone who had to miss an exam during the semester. You are allowed two crib sheets for the cumulative make-up exam. If you plan to take the make-up exam please send E-mail to phy2054@phys.ufl.edu.
 11.13.10 Teacher Evaluations: We will do teacher evaluations on Tuesday December 7 (in class). In addition to the evaluations you will be asked 4 HITT questions about the course. If you come to class and do the evaluations and answer the 4 questions you will get 8 HITT bonus points which will improve your HITT grade.

Your estimated course grade after 1 exam is in column "Course Grade 1" and after 2 exams is in column "Course Grade 2". Your Exam Points assumes that you get the same grade on the final exam that you averaged on Exam 1 and Exam 2. Also, your HITT Points are based on the HITT score through 11/4/10 and your Quiz Points include the first 6 quizzes. Your WebAssign HW Points includes the first 8 assignments. Your Total Points are the sum of your HITT Points, your Quiz Points, your HW Points, and your Exam Points. The grades are calculated according to the grade formula. If you see a mistake please send E-mail to phy2054@phys.ufl.edu. Remember this is only an estimate, if your performance level changes your grade will change accordingly!
 11.10.10 Exam 2 Grades: The grades for Exam 2 have been posted on the PHY 2054 E-Learning WEBsite. The average was 10.6 with with a high score of 19. The exam was slightly too difficult. The goal is to have at least 15% "A" grades at the end of the semester. The final exam will not be quite as difficult. The next estimated course grades will be available soon.

 10.29.10 Exam Conflicts: PHY 2054 Exam 2 is 8:20pm-10:10pm on Monday November 8. If you have an exam conflict you can take Exam 2 5:10pm-7:00pm on Monday November 8 in Room 1216 NPB. However, you must first send E-mail to phy2054@phys.ufl.edu stating your conflict and that you plan to take the exam at 5:10pm.

 9.28.10 PHY2054 Tea and Cookie Review Session: On Tuesday September 28 the "tea and cookie" session at 5:00pm in 2165 NPB will focus on a review for Exam 1.
 9.16.10 Exam Conflicts: PHY 2054 Exam 1 is 8:20pm-10:10pm on Wednesday September 29. If you have an exam conflict you can take Exam 1 5:10pm-7:00pm on Wednesday September 29 in Room 1216 NPB. However, you must first send E-mail to phy2054@phys.ufl.edu stating your conflict and that you plan to take the exam at 5:10pm.
 9.14.10 H-ITT Scores: On Tuesday September 14 every PHY 2054 student was sent a gatorlink E-mail with their H-ITT scores from last week (maximum of 6 points possible). If you did not recieve your correct H-ITT scores please send E-mail to phy2054@phys.ufl.edu. Note that if your gatorlink E-mail inbox is full then you will not receive the E-mail.

 9.4.10 Homework Grades Response Summaries: The Grades Response Summary for PHY2054 HW Set 1 is up on the PHY 2054 E-Learning WEBsite. It shows the number of right and wrong students responses for each of the problems on HW1. Similar Grade Response Summeries will be posted for each of the WebAssign homework sets.
 9.4.10 WebAssign Accuracy: Some of you will miss WebAssign homework problems because you do not keep enough accuracy. You must get the right answer to within 2% or WebAssign will mark it wrong!
 9.3.10 Students with Disabilities: Students requesting classroom accommodation for disabilities must first register with the Dean of Students Office. The Dean of Students Office will provide documentation to the student who must then provide this documentation to the instructor when requesting accommodation. Then you must pick up an Accommodated Test Request (ATR) Form for Fall 2010 from your instructor (in class or during office hours). This form must be filled out by the student and returned to the Disability Reseource Center (DCR) at least one week before the first exam. The Accommodated Testing Service (ATS) at DCR will then administer all the exams.
 9.2.10 Lecture Notes: Links to the PHY 2054 lecture notes for the entire semester are up on the E-Learning WEBsite. However, the PDF files do not appear until the lectures are uploaded which usually does not happen until right before the class when the lecture is presented.
 8.26.10 WebAssign Multi-Term Access Code: If you purchased a multi-term access code from WebAssign last semester and cannot log into the PHY2054 WEBsite with your new WA UserName then please send E-mail to Kim Wollschlager at kim@webassign.net explaining your situation. Please include your Full Name, E-mail address, and Institution code = ufl. Kim will verify that you did purchase multi-term access and fix it so you can access PHY2054.
 8.23.10 PHY2054 Tea and Cookies Session: Starting on Tuesday August 31 Professor Kumar will host a "tea and cookie" session every Tuesday at 5:00pm in 2165 NPB. Join him for tea, cookies, and help with the physics problems.
 8.23.10 Newly Registered Students: If you signed up for PHY2054 in the last few days, it may take a few days for your name and WebAssign information to appear on the PHY 2054 E-Learning WEBsite.
 8.1.10 The first on-line homework assignment is due by 11:00pm on Friday September 3, 2010. You must login to WebAssign using the username (WA UserName), institution code (WA Institution = ufl), and initial password (WA PassWord) which is provided on the PHY 2054 E-Learning WEBsite (use your GatorLink username to log into E-Learning). If you cannot access the PHY2054 E-Learning WEBsite send E-mail to phy2054@phys.ufl.edu from your GatorLink account. To log into WebAssign you will also need the access code that comes with your textbook (see the instructions in the syllabus).
