McGrawHillConnect ON-LINE GRADED HOMEWORK (due by 11:00pm on the dates shown below)
To get onto the online homework system you will need to enter the access code that came with the hardcopy textbook.
To login on McGrawHillConnect go to McGraw-Hill Connect and enter your Gatorlink E-mail address. Note: You must use your Gatorlink E-mail address!
McGrawHillConnect Homework Problems:
- The problems come from your textbook. However, the numbers are randomized for each student (i.e. the problems will be same as the textbook but with different numbers).
- On HW Set 1 you will be given two attempts to do the assignment (with your best score counting) and five tries per problem. On all the other HW assignments you will be given one attempt to do the assignment and you will have five tries per problem to get the correct answer. You will not be counted off for "significant figures", however, your answer must be correct to within 5%.
- You can save your work and come back later to complete the assignment. Once you have completed the assignment click submit. Any problems left blank will be graded as wrong!
- Your assignment will automatically be submitted and graded "as-is" at 11:00 pm on the due date!
- For most of the problems McGrawHillConnect will give you a "hint" after the third incorrect try and for some of the problems McGrawHillConnect will give you the solution after the assignment due date.
Your homework scores will be weighted by how well you do on the quiz that follows the homework assignment. For example, if HWn is your score on the nth homework assignment and Qn is your score on the nth quiz, then you will receive the following quiz×homework grade: (Q×HW)n = Qn × HWn/5. However, if your quiz score is 4 points or higher (out of 5 points) then you will receive full credit for the corresponding homework assignment no matter what your homework score was on that assignment (even if you did not do the homework assignment!), and full credit for the corresponding quiz×homework grade. There is no associated quiz for HW Set 10. For the Set 10 assignment, (Q×HW)10 = HW10. The assigned on-line homework problems, the due dates, and the dates of the associated quiz are shown below. The quiz×homework portion of the course will count for 10% of the overall course grade. To provide a measure of forgiveness for illnesses and possible network problems, 10% of the quiz×homework scores will be dropped in evaluating your final grade. The course grade formula (PDF) shows how your quiz×homework points are calculated.
