Final Course Grades: The final course grades have been posted on the
PHY 2054 Sakai e-Learning WEBsite.
Six students received a perfect score of 100 points out of 100; 27% of the class received an "A" or "A-" grade;
58% of the class received a "B" grade or higher, and
91% of the class received a "C" grade or higher.
Congratulations to those who did well! If you see a mistake please send E-mail

Renormalized Quiz and Quiz×Homework Scores: The table below shows the average quiz score for
each of the PHY2054 TA's. It also shows the additional points per quiz that have been
added to the students of each TA to make the average quiz grades equal for all the TA's.
However, if adding the additional points results in a quiz score that is greater than 5 points,
then you were given the maximum of 5 points. The new renormalized quiz scores and the recalculated
quiz×homework scores are now posted on the PHY 2054 Sakai
e-Learning WEBsite.

Final Exam Grades: The grades for the Final Exam have been posted on the

The initial average was 10.1 out of 20 with one student receiving a perfect score of 20. The scores have been "renormalized" by
adding 2 points to everyone's score. The new average is 12.1 out of 20 with 18 students receiving
a perfect score of 20. The Make-up Exam scores have also been "renormalized" by
adding 2 points to everyone's score. The "renormalized" Final Exam and Make-up Exam scores appear on the Sakai eLearning website.
Congratulations to those who did well! The final course grades will be availible in a few days.

Cumulative Make-Up Exam: The PHY 2054 Make-Up Exam is 5:10pm-7:05pm on Wednesday April 20 in Room MAEA 303.
It is for anyone who had to miss an exam during the semester. You cannot take the make-up exam to improve a grade on a previous
exam. You have to have missed an exam with a valid reason. The breakdown of the questions on the cumulative make-up exam
is similar to the final exam. The Make-Up Exam will include 3 formula sheets:
Exam 1 Formula Sheet,
Exam 2 Formula Sheet,
and the Exam 3 Formula Sheet. In addition,
you can bring 1 cribsheet.
If you plan to take the make-up exam and you have not already done so, please send E-mail to
phy2054@phys.ufl.edu and tell us which exam you are making up.

Breakdown of Final Exam Problems: The PHY2054 Final Exam will have 4 problems
from your Exam 1 (changed slightly but same concept) and 4 problems from your Exam 2
(changed slightly but same concept). The answers to these problems may not be the exact same formula,
but if you understand how to do your Exam 1 and Exam 2 problems you will be able to do these problems.
The final exam will also have 6 problems from the new material
(Chapter 22-25) and it will have 6 new cumulative problems (Chapter 16-21)
for a total of 20 problems as shown below. The Final Exam will include 3 formula sheets:
Exam 1 Formula Sheet,
Exam 2 Formula Sheet,
and the Exam 3 Formula Sheet. In addition,
you can bring 1 cribsheet.

Estimated Course Grades: The estimated course grades (after two exams) are up on the
PHY 2054 Sakai e-Learning WEBsite.
Your Exam Points (max = 75) assumes that you get the average of your Exam 1 and Exam 2 grade on the Final Exam.
Your Quiz Points (max = 15 points) include the first 7 quizzes and
assumes that you get the same average on all your remaining quizzes that you have for the first 7 quizzes.
Your QxHW Points (max = 10 points) include the first 7 on-line homework assignments together with the first 7 quizzes
and assumes you get the same average on all your remaining QxHW scores. Your HITT Bonus points (max = 5 points)
are based on your HITT scores through 3/17/16 and assumes that you get the same average on all the remaining HITT questions.
Your Total Points (max = 100 points) are the sum of your Quiz Points, your QxHW Points,
your Exam Points, and your HITT Bonus points. If you have greater than 100 points, you were given
the maximum of 100 points. The grades are calculated according to the
grade formula.
Your overall Rank in the class and your raw HITT, HW, and Quiz scores are also shown.
If you see a mistake with a quiz grade please contact your TA.

H-ITT Question Mistake: I made a mistake on the H-ITT question on Tuesday March 22. The period 4
answer was correct, but the period 5 answer was wrong. The correct answer is 15kBI2.
Everyone in both sections will get full credit for the question.

Your Exam Points (max = 75) assumes that you get the same grade on Exam 2 and
the Final Exam that you received on Exam 1. Your Quiz Points (max = 15 points) include the first 3 quizzes and
assumes that you get the same average on all your remaining quizzes that you have for the first 3 quizzes.

15.3% of the class has an "A" grade, 48.5% of the class has a "B" grade or higher, and
81.6% of the class has a "C" grade or higher.
Remember this is only an estimate, if your performance level changes your grade will change accordingly!
If you did not take Exam 1 then you temporarily received a zero for Exam 1.
The zero will be replaced by your score on the cumulative make-up exam. Hence, your estimated course grade is not accurate at this time.
When you take Exam 2 your estimated course grade will become more accurate.

Exam 1 Study Suggestions: We suggest that to prepare for Exam 1 you study the following:
- The example problems done in class.
- Previous exams. Especially Fall 2015.
- The assigned homework problems.
- If this is not sufficient, study random problems from the textbook.

Students with Disabilities: Students requesting special accomodations
on the in-term exams and the final exam must follow the instructions at
UF DSO. Students must initiate
an accommodated testing request (ATR) for each exam to be scheduled at the DRC (i.e. Exam 1, Exam 2, Final Exam).
The PHY2054 instructors will review the request via E-mail and either accept or decline the request as submitted.
The ATR must be completed at least four (4) business days before the scheduled exam date.
The Accommodated Testing Service (ATS) at DRC will then administer the exam.

H-ITT Practice Question on Thursday January 7: On Thursday January 7 you will be given an H-ITT
practice question that will help you to become familiar with the system before the
questions start counting for bonus points. The H-ITT questions will begin counting toward your bonus points on
