Practice Exams

Here are copies of  PHY2054 exams that were given in a previous summer.

NOTE CAREFULLY:

1.  The correct answer to all questions is #1.

2.  Ignore the chapter coverage headings listed at the top of each exam . These apply to the previous text then in use; also, some headings were garbled when the questions were copied from the computer files.  The exam-chapter correlation is as follows:

Exam 1   corresponds to Chapters 15 - 18.   Questions 14, 15, & 16 are
from Chapter 18 and thus don't apply to Exam 1.  Also, in question
19, the stationary charge is -1 nanocoulomb, not -1 microC.

Exam 2    corresponds to Chapters  19 - 21.

Exam 3    corresponds to Chapters 22 - 26.
Omit the last 3 questions since Chapter 26 is not covered.

3.  Finally, to get best results from using these exams, refer to the 'Tips and Suggestions' section on the course homepage.
