WebAssign Homework

About WebAssign:  This on-line, interactive homework activity has been used in many of the UF Physics Department's introductory courses for several terms.  It is apparently new to most of you;  it's also relatively new to me----we'll be learning together!

Few of us enjoy doing homework yet it is probably the most productive study activity of all.......IF you work at it!   Our WebAssignments encourage you to work out selected problems interactively online and add up to 8% to your total course score.

The WebAssign homework questions are closely based on questions selected from those at the end of each chapter.  However,  each of you gets a "personalized"  version: the parameters vary so that each of you works with different numbers.

If you like working together, feel free to discuss the problems and how to solve them, but each of you must work out your own assignment and enter your own answers.  It's critically important for you to figure out how an answer was obtained, because that is the key to doing well on the exams and quizzes where most of your  points are earned.

Each WebAssignment is due on Sunday at 11 PM as indicated below, except for the ones before and after Summer Break. You get instant feedback as to whether the answer is correct or not and you have up to 10 attempts at getting the correct answer. Note that the numerical answers must be within 3% of the correct answer for WebAssign to accept them.

Important reminder:  WebAssign homework must be completed by 11PM on the due date.  No exceptions!!
The WebAssign server may have occasional problems, e.g., slowing down due to a glut of last-minute users.  It's smart to begin work early and turn in answers steadily, rather than try to do it all on the last day (at around 10 PM!!).

Revised Login Instructions:
Your initial WebAssign username is your gatorlink ID with sum06 appended.  Example: If my gatorlink ID was bubba, then my username would be bubbasum06 .
Your initial password is your gatorlink ID (bubba in this example).
Please change your password when you log in for the first time.
The institution is ufl .
