end it at 1:55 to give you 90 minutes of working time. Click Here for a review of final exam topics.
24 July - Exam 2 solutions are available (at last) on the homework solutions page — sorry for the delay! Note: in #14 solution, the > symbol should be => .
11 July - Exam 2 scores
are now posted on your WebAssign pages. Class average was 10.6.
In response to several requests for final grade estimates, Click Here for a Guesstimation method, to be used with caution.

2 [tomorrow (Tuesday) night] will cover Chapter 21 only through
section 21.7. Principal emphasis on sections 1, 2, 3, 6, 7. CLICK HERE for a review of Exam 2 coverage.
01 July - Hope you enjoyed the break.......now is the time to concentrate on the course material.....the end is getting closer! Please welcome Mr. Alex Kagioglu who will be our supplemental instructor for the rest of the term. No Lecture on Thursday 03 July! Have a safe July 4 holiday.
06 June - h-itt scores through yesterday (05 June) will be emailed this morning. The following h-itt remotes have data recorded but no names registered to them: 406334, 412553, 415823, 431571, 431668, 432698, 433429, 433441, 433756. If you didn't receive the emailed scores and your remote is one of the above, please register/re-register your remote, ASAP, at the Physics h-itt site, accessible via our menu at left.
05 June - Your Exam 1 score was posted today on your WebAssign page. Exam solutions and statistics can be accessed via the Homework Solutions page. The Exam 1 class average was 14— congratulations! Exam 2 material is a bit more challenging, so don't slack off on your studying!
03 June - h-itt scores were
emailed to you around 3 PM. If you didn't receive yours, let me
know so we can check the roster — there are nine sets of remote
responses with no names attached!
01 June - Ms. Mateo has scheduled an Exam 1 Review Session at 5 PM Monday 02 June in NPB 1001.
28 May - Your h-itt (clicker) scores were
emailed a few minutes ago— this time, successfully! Let me know
if you didn't get yours so we can check your h-itt roster info. The Sample Exams & Solutions book
is now being sold at Target ($21.54, I'm told). There are 6 exams
each of Exams !, 2, and 3 with solutions, from various PHY2054
instructors .
27 May- My
attempts to email your h-itt scores from my home computer have
failed. All are bouncing — apparently the UF server doesn't like my Earthlink
satellite connection. I'll send these again tomorrow from
UF.
22 May - Problem solutions and answers to end-of-chapter questions for Chapter 15 are now on line at Homework Solutions
Sample exams are on line at Practice Exams
[You'll probably need to re-load the above pages to access them!]
21 May - Homework problem solutions will be posted weekly after the WebAssignment deadline. Also, see the Discussion/Recitation page for the schedule of Supplemental Instruction sessions conducted by Ms. Mateo.
18 May - Trouble logging-in to WebAssign?? If your UF ID begins with a zero, you followed the instructions carefully,
and you still get a response like 'Invalid Login', try typing in
your ID/'username' without the zero. For unknown reasons, initial
zeros are occasionally dropped from roster name entries.
14 May - WebAssign is now up & running. Please read the instructions carefully before trying to log in.
13 May - TA sections, office hours, etc. are now listed, as are exam dates/times. WebAssign will not be accessible until some time Wednesday [tech problems!]. Sorry!
12 May - Welcome, all, to the course. A few items on this website are still under construction. WebAssign rolls and TA office hours & section assignments will
be posted here by around 6 PM Tuesday 13 May [we hope!]. Other
items not yet available should be on line within a week or so.
09 April - Welcome, to
those of you who want an early start and are reading these pages before
the Spring term ends. This site will be under construction until
the course begins; however, the syllabus, schedule, and
assignments are unlikely to undergo radical revisions.
Other sections (i.e., TA's, exam dates, etc., will be updated as
information becomes available.
Registering
for this class: If you are having difficulty trying to
register for this class, I'm quite sympathetic but there is absolutely
nothng I can do to bypass or expedite the process.
