May 3
The solutions to the final exam is posted to E-Learning. I will post scores on the final and grades as soon as I have them. If you would like to pick up your final, I will be available from 1-2PM tomorrow (Friday), and I will also be available during the summer.

The solutions to the make-up/exta exam are posted on E-Learning. I will be available on Friday from 10:30A to 3P in my office for questions or to pick up your exam. On Monday and Tuesday I will have office hours from 1-3P. Remember, the final exam is on Wednesday from 3-5P in our regular classroom.

The solutions to the last quiz and homework are on E-Learning, as well as the problems that were covered in the review session on Thursday.

I have updated the Special Relativity notes on E-Learning to include the material from Tuesday's lecture. There will be a review on Thursday (April 19) followed by a tour of some of the research labs in the Physics building. Finally, if the class gets over an 80% response rate on the teaching evaluations (see link at left), I will give everyone 3 points on the final.

The last homework assignment (11) is Chpt. 20 Exerices 3, 5, 7, 13, 17, 23. I have chosen all odd numbered problems so you can check your answer. There is a quiz this coming Tuesday on the previous homework assignment (10). Finally, I will be placing on E-Learning a set of lecture notes on Special Relativity because I am presenting some derivations which are not in the book.

Homework assignment 10 is Chpt. 17 Ex. 7, 13, 22, 31; Prob. 5, 11. It is due next Thursday. This is the second to last assignment.

Homework assignment 9 is Chpt. 14 Ex. 10, 32, Prob. 5; Chpt. 15 Ex. 25, 26; Prob. 1. It is due next Thursday. There will be a practice exam given in class on Tuesday. You will be working in groups to solve the exam and hand it in at the end of class.

Homework assignment 8 is Chpt. 11 Problems 3, 12, 32; Chapter 12 Problems 3, 8; Chapter 13 Problem 2. It is due next Thursday. On Tuesday there is a quiz on HW 7 (statics problem).

Homework assignment 7 is due the Thursday after Spring Break (March 15): Chapt. 9 Ex. 17, 30, 32, 38; Chapt. 10 Ex. 20, Prob. 7.
Feb 21
The new homework assignment is posted here. It is due next Tuesday. There is a quiz on Thursday on HW5, whose solutions are posted to E-Learning.
Feb 15
The solutions to Exam 1 are posted to E-Learning. Graded exams will be returned next Thursday. The new homework assignment is Chapter 7: Exercises 10, 14; Problems 1, 4, 10, 11. It is due on Tuesday February 21.

Homework assignment 4 is Chapter 6: Problems 8, 9, 13, 19, 21. It is due on Thursday February 9. There will also be a quiz on Feb. 9 on homework assignment 3.

Homework assignment 3 is Chapter 5: Problems 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 17. It is due on Thursday February 2. There will also be a quiz on Feb. 2 on homework assignment 2. As discussed in class, office hours are now Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7th period in NPB 2138.
