Suggested Topics: Students should choose their topic in consultation with the instructor and notify the instructor by February 22 (Friday). One can choose a topic not on the list only after consulting with the instructor.
- Neutron Scattering in Condensed Matter Physics (CMP) Research.
- Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) in CMP Research (especially in Semiconductors and Superconductors).
- Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices (SQUID) in CMP Research.
- Angle Resolved Photo Emission Spectroscopy (ARPES) in CMP Research.
- Raman Spectroscopy in CMP Research.
- Optical Lattices in Cold Atoms and their Relevance to CMP.
Format:
- It is strongly recommended to use LaTeX to produce the final pdf file.
- The standard style of the paper is the Preprint format of Physical Review B manuscript. Please visit http://prb.aps.org/info/infoB.html and https://authors.aps.org/STYLE/ for detailed information in preparing your manuscript. Sample PDF and Tex file are available.
- Each paper should include:
- Title and Author Name
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Theory (main physical principles, calculations, etc.)
- Technical description of the technique (including applicability, physical quantities extracted through measurements, resolution, advantages and drawbacks of the technique).
- Example(s) of application (including important experimental works)
- Summary
- References
- The paper should be original. It is ok to quote with proper references.
