This experiment consists of four electromagnets mounted on a tall stand in the distance ratio of 1, 4, 9, and 16. When the electromagnets are turned off, steel balls fall into a catcher down below and the sound produced is a consistent, evenly spaced "ping, ping, ping, ping" instead of what stundents might be expect of "ping....ping.........ping......................ping".
