This experiment uses the dynamics track and a cart with a tall rod attached that electromagnetically holds a pink ball. As the cart moves down the track a photogate is tripped and the magnet turns off dropping the ball.The ball may be dropped inwards towards the cart or outwards beside the track towards a fixed target laying on the ground (like an aircraft bombing run).
