This experiment uses the computer/multimedia system and a photogate equipped "Smart Pulley" to measure the motion of a cart that is being acted upon by two forces. One force is the weight hanging over the edge of the table creating tension in the string and the second force is created by the electric fan motor on the cart blowing air. The airstream of the fan motor can be angled to create vector component forces allowing a variation in the force.
