These experiments can show a variety of rotational concepts such as conservation of angular momentum, precession and gyroscopic stability. Volunteers sit in the chair and spin around while changing the position of the masses by moving the weights in and out as the rotate. The speed of rotation changes with changes in the moment of inertia.
