This experiment uses an electroscope (a thin gold foil to detect static
charges) and different charging rods and cloths to produce + and - charges.
Charging by conduction and induction can be clearly shown along with electrical
sheilding (Faraday Cage) and the Faraday's Cup experiment that demonstrates
that charge storage occurs on the outside surface of a conductor. The foil
of the electroscope may be viewed by using the video camera and the multimedia
system (which will provide a better view for more people) or by casting
a shadow on the wall of the auditorium.
