Instructors Teaching Podium

This is a photo of the teaching podium where the instructor controls the multimedia system. To the right is a color touch sensitive pad manufactured by AMX corporation and it's this pad that operates the multimedia equipment functions such as start, stop, play, etc. The computer monitor shown on the right is attached to a 300MHz Pentium II with a 9 GByte Ultrawide SCSI harddrive, AGP graphics card and a broadcast quality Miro Video DC30+ video capture card. Displayed on the monitor is a picture of the capture card in use. The capture card allows the instructor to preview videos before showing them to the class or to view a different video while the class is watching the first video. Also available to the instructor is a light pen that makes it possible to write temporarily over video or computer images much like "Monday Night Football" without actually changing the original file.
