The CDF Experiment at Fermilab
The CDF experimental Program at UF

The High Energy Physics Experimental group is involved in the CDF hadron collider experiment at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab) near Chicago.

This set of pictures of the CDF detector is useful for getting a quick understanding of its main components. For comparison, see the D0 home page for a description of the other collider detector.

The Fermilab accelerator complex is going through a major renovation designed to improve the luminosity by approximately an order of magnitude. Simultaneous improvements in CDF and D0 will enable these experiments to explore fundamental new physics when the upgrades are complete at the end of this decade. Details of the accelerator upgrade can be found in the Fermi III home page.
