Postdoctoral Research Associate in Experimental High Energy Physics University of Florida

The University of Florida High Energy Group announces an immediate opening for a postdoctoral Research Associate on the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.

The UF High Energy Group, led by profs. Acosta, Avery, Field, Furic, Konigsberg, Korytov, Matchev, Mitselmakher and Yelton has a strong involvement at CMS, ranging from leadership in the development of the Cathode Strip Chamber (CSC) system and associated Level 1 trigger, a Tier 2 computing center and muon trigger upgrade R&D, to physics analyses involving dilepton final states. The group plays a leading role in searches for new physics in TeV dimuon resonances, boosted Z and SUSY with like-sign dileptons as well as leptonic decays of Higgs and Underlying Event studies at CMS.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in experimental particle physics at the time of appointment. The successful candidate is expected to be stationed at CERN, focus on analysis of data from the LHC and contribute to the group's service responsibilities to the experiment. The candidate is expected to play a leading role in searches for new physics with dileptons.

An application consisting of a CV, a short statement of physics interests, and three letters of recommendation should be sent via e-mail to susan@phys.ufl.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position has been filled. For more information contact Prof. Ivan Furic (ikfuric@phys.ufl.edu).
