International Summer Research Program in Gravitational-Wave Physics:
Research Experiences for Undergraduates around the world

The University of Adelaide is among Australia's most picturesque University campuses. It is situated only a few minutes walk from the heart of Adelaide, the capital city of the state of South Australia and one of Australia's leading cultural cities. The program to enhance gravitational wave detectors at the University of Adelaide is led by Jesper Munch, Peter Veitch and David Ottaway. The group is developing high power, ultra-stable laser systems for future gravitational wave detectors and is responsible for delivering Hartmann wave-front sensors to Advanced LIGO. These sensors provide a unique method for characterizing optics in an extremely precise way and will be a crucial part of sensing the thermal state of the interferometer.
