International Summer Research Program in Gravitational-Wave Physics:
Research Experiences for Undergraduates around the world

Australian National University in Canberra
Director: Prof. David McClelland
ANU is the most prestigious university in Australia. It's experimental gravitational wave group is led by Prof. David McClelland and research fellow Dr. Daniel Shaddock. The group is developing digital interferometric sensing techniques for lock acquisition in Advanced LIGO and squeezed vacuum sources to reduce shot noise for advanced interferometers. The group is also involved in LISA interferometry and collaborates with several local quantum optics groups. David and Daniel lead a group of several postdocs, graduate, and undergraduate students. One of our former REU students is now a graduate student at ANU working for David and Daniel.
