Fast Turn-Around Facility

In order to test experimental cells and sample integrity a small superconducting magnet (10 T) and dilution refrigerator (10 mK base temperature) is available to users. This facility can be cycled in 48 hours and allows users to test their experimental probes and samples prior to starting lengthy (and costly) long-time experiments on one of the nuclear demagnetization cryostats. This fast turn-around facility is housed in a neighboring building, Williamson Hall.

Users should discuss with staff their needs to use this facility as early as possible in the process of developing a proposal for magnet time at the High B/T Facility.
