Andrew Padgett, Wayne R. Bomstad Memorial Award Recipient

December 2015

The Wayne R. Bomstad II Memorial Award for discussion sections is awarded annually to Teaching Assistants who have displayed excellence in teaching in laboratory sections. The awards honor the memory of Wayne Bomstad, who was for some years an important member of the graduate student teaching team. It was made possible by contributions from his family and friends. This year's recipient is Andrew Padgett.

Drew has been TA for PHY 2053 for the past 3 semesters and has demonstrated admirable dedication to being a TA. He uniformly enforces the use of variables when creating quizzes and doing problems in class to teach students how to solve problems. Drew's care for the students is reminiscent of the care that Wayne had for his students, and therefore Andrew is the best candidate for this award.
