Joseph McNeil, Wayne R. Bomstad Memorial Award Recipient

December 2016

The Wayne R. Bomstad II Memorial Award for lab sections is awarded annually to Teaching Assistants who have displayed excellence in teaching in laboratory sections. The awards honor the memory of Wayne Bomstad, who was for some years an important member of the graduate student teaching team. The award is made possible by contributions from his family and friends.

This year’s Bomstad award for teaching in the labs goes to Joseph McNeil. Dr. Bob DeSerio writes that Joseph, who is in his second year, was a bit nervous in the lab when he started but has quickly grown into a very good teacher who knows exactly what his students need to succeed. Students show up eagerly to Joseph’s labs, even at 7:30 in the morning. It shows in his work that Joseph enjoys teaching. Congratulations Joseph!
