The Institute of High Energy Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Florida invites applicants for a postdoctoral research associate position to work on the CMS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The University of Florida is a leading university group in the CMS experiment, contributing strongly to the physics program and to the commissioning of the detector, trigger, and computing systems.
The successful candidate will be expected to focus on both the CMS physics program as well as on the commissioning and operation of the Level-1 Track-Finder trigger of the CMS Endcap Muon System. We anticipate the successful candidate will be based at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, working with other Florida team members at CERN and in the U.S. Excellent data analysis and programming skills in the context of high energy physics experiments are essential, and a Ph.D. degree in high energy physics is required. Previous experience in electronics or trigger systems is desired.
