Title: The charm of being discrete in general relativity

Abstract: Discretizations of the Einstein equations are use both in numerical
relativity and in quantum gravity. Most discretizations used, however, yield
inconsistent theories. We explore the implications of this issue and propose a
solution for the consistency problem.
