Title: Progress in discrete gravity

Abstract: The discrete approximation to general relativity, known as Regge
calculus, will be described; the general idea is "building curved spaces
with flat blocks"! Then some applications in both classical and quantum gravity
will be discussed. The latter will include an account of the way that the 
ideas of Regge calculus have led to state sum models of quantum gravity.
