Final Note: Congratulations

Final exam scores as well as class grades are available in the usual places.
The final ranking was as follows: A>78>B+>72>B>63>C+>54>C>49>D+>41>D>30>E.
The overall average was 63.04 (ie a B), and the median was 63.26 (also a B).

Attention:

The final exam will be on Thursday May 3rd from 10:00am to 12 noon. It will
cover sections 1.1 through 7.7 plus Kepler's third law, sections 8.1 through 9.8,
and sections 13.1 through 13.6. The Final Practice Test was distributed
at the last class (4/24/00). In the practice test handed out in class, questions
1*, 6*, 14*, 16* and 18* cover test 1 material, while questions
4**, 5**, 8**, 11** and 12** cover test 2 material. On the final, questions
covering first and second test material will be marked as indicated above.

A master copy of the practice is available here. In this master copy, the first answer
is always correct. Please note that the answers below do not refer to this master copy.

Students in Sections 3438, 3444, 3447 and 7121 will take the final in McCarthy C 100.
All others will take the exam in NPB 1001, where lectures have been held.

Please remember that one only 8.5 x 11.0 formula sheet (both sides) is allowed.
Make sure you bring a calculator and sufficient scrap paper with you also.
You must hand in ALL your working to receive credit for the exam.

There will be a final review session in NPB 1001 on 4/29/00 during Periods E1-E2.
Please note date and time!

Additional office hours will be available, 7th & 8th periods on Monday and Wednesday
before the exam, in NPB 2079.

There will be a problem/review session, in preparation for the second exam in
NPB 1001, Periods 11-E1 (6:15-8:10pm), Monday March 26th.
