Primitive Word Processing

Parkin01 acts as a simple word processor.

The symbol **5 causes the 5 to be raised as a superscript. Superscripting is ended by a * as in **5*, by a blank, or by a closing parenthesis as in **(5+7) which will put both the 5 and the seven in the superscript. Subscripting is indicated by //5*. The special symbol **-> causes the superscript to be backspaced, producing a vector symbol. The special symbol **_ (**"underline") causes the superscript to be backspaced over the character before it, producing a "bar" over it.
The text treated in this way can appear anywhere in the que file.  For example in the part of sample.que before the first question there is a definition of some constants as.

      Earth's radius:     6.38 x 10**6* m

      Earth's mass:       5.98 x 10**24* kg

      Newton's constant:  6.67 x 10**-11* N m**2*/kg**2
These appear in the proof and the exam as
                                   6
      Earth's radius:     6.38 x 10  m
                                   24
      Earth's mass:       5.98 x 10   kg
                                   -11    2   2
      Newton's constant:  6.67 x 10    N m /kg

Extra Spacing

You may wish to space out your answers more than the normal space in between.

To do this, at the end of an answer, enter desired number of spaces and then end it with a \ ("backslash"). The code will read the \ as a space-holder, but it will not be printed out.
For example:

AA (1) zero degrees Fahrenheit \ (2) cold \ (3) boiling \
(4) not enough information given \ (5) lukewarm \

Stacking Answers

To start each answer on a new line and make (2) the correct answer, use

AA S 2 (1) zero degrees Fahrenheit \ (2) cold \ (3) boiling \
(4) not enough information given \ (5) lukewarm \

Omit the 2 if the correct answer is (1).
