Introductory Labs

I direct the introductory laboratories (PHY2004L, PHY2005L, PHY2048L, PHY2049L, PHY2053L, PHY2054L).  I design the experiments and write the laboratory manuals, organize and train the instructors, and create and maintain the website material.  I am working on database programming to organize the administration of these courses.

Advanced Physics Laboratory

I assist the faculty and occasionally teach the Advanced Physics Laboratory (PHY4803L).  Together with other department faculty, I have designed apparatus and written the lab manual for experiments on infrared, visible, and gamma ray spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, gamma-gamma correlation, xray diffraction, dynamic light scattering, low temperature electron transport, high temperature superconductivity, cosmic ray muons, the chaotic pendulum and saturated absorption in rubidium.

LabVIEW programming

I use National Instruments' LabVIEW programming environment alone or with GPIB, multifunction, and special purpose data acquisition cards for most of the data acquistion tasks in the instructional labs.  Some of this programming is available through the following links.
