I am currently a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Physics , University of Florida   at Gainesville, Florida, working with Prof. Rick Field . Prior to joining the Ph.D program in the fall of 2003, I did my B.Sc and M.Sc in Physics from Jadavpur University , Kolkata, India. I was a recipient of the Charles F. Hooper Jr. Memorial Award for "showing distinction in research and teaching" in December 2007.

We are a part of the CDF (The Collider Detector at Fermilab) collaboration - one of the experiments at the giant proton-antiproton collider at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory , near Chicago in Illinois. We are studying the event topology in Drell-Yan lepton-pair production to probe the underlying event - which are unavoidable physical background to any hadron collider process.

When not doing Physics, I love traveling around, exploring new places and capturing those moments   in my camera. I won a "honorable" mention" at the Global Culture Photography Contest organized by the University of Florida International Center in 2006. I am also a passionate follower of " Gator sports " and blog  in my spare time.
