Abstract: In spite of the significant progress in numerical relativity modeling compact binary systems, current simulations do not have yet the quality required to help in the detection of gravitational waves. I will present a couple of examples of "low-carb" problems in numerical relativity that, because of the simplifying assumptions, are currently solvable and thus provide potentially useful information for observational efforts.
