Abstract: Hawking radiation is produced by the changing gravitational field of the star before the formation of the horizon and the singularity. I will show through solutions to Einstein and energy conservation equations how, when the backreaction of the Hawking flux is included in the collapse evolution of the star, then the collapse reverses before a singularity forms and the star bounces instead of entering the horizon. I will discuss the implications of these findings for the information loss paradox.
