Exam policy

There will be three in-class exams (in NPB 1002), each lasting 1 hour and 40 minutes, and starting promptly at 8:30am. The dates for each of these exams are:

Exam 1 Tuesday Feb. 6th HRK chapters 25 to 28
Exam 2 Thursday March 8th HRK chapters 29 to 32
Exam 3 Tuesday Apr. 17th

There will be a cumulative final exam (also in NPB 1002) during finals week, though there may be extra emphasis on the material covered after exam 3. This exam will also last 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Exam 4 Tuesday May 1st, 10:00-11:40am Cumulative

The best three scores out of the four exams will be worth a total of 60% (20% each) towards your final grade. You MUST take three (3) of these exams. You may choose to skip an exam altogether, without any penalty. However, I would appreciate you notifying me if you do intend to skip a particular exam. If you take the first three midterms, you may skip the final, though this is not advised. Just be sure to take three exams.

Make-up Policy: No make-ups are given for missed exams, because you have already been granted permission to skip one exam. If a serious personal or family emergency arises at the time of a scheduled exam, simply skip the exam. No paperwork or permission is required. If you reach the end of the semester and you still have not skipped an exam, you could choose to take the fourth (final) exam and I will drop your lowest exam score.

Since the in-class exams are mid-week, and will be held during the normal class period, I do not anticipate any schedule conflicts. If you have any conflict with the final exam, please let me know a.s.a.p.
