Final Exam Announcement

The final exam will be held in class on Wednesday, August 9. The exam will start promptly at 9:30 am.

You should bring a No. 2 pencil, an eraser, and a scientific calculator to the exam. You may also bring four formula sheets (8.5" x 11" paper or smaller, no problem solutions allowed): one from each of the mid-terms plus a new sheet covering Chapters 28 and 29. No other written materials will be permitted.

The exam will consist of 15 multiple-choice questions covering the following material from Bueche and Wallach (B&W):
    All sections covered on the mid-term exams;
    Chapter 28 Sections 1-7;
    Chapter 29 Sections 3-5, 7, and 8.

There will be nine questions covering Chapters 19 through 27, four from Chapter 28, and two from Chapter 29.

The questions will all be roughly at the level of B&W's no-star or one-star problems. There will be no true/false statements, no two-loop circuit problems, and no questions involving multiple lenses.

Office hours: Prof. Ingersent will be available to answer your questions (1) any time Monday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm; (2) Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. You can contact him by e-mail (ingersent@phys.ufl.edu), by telephone (392-8748), or in person in NPB 2162.
