Fall 2004

Overview

PHZ 7428 is an advanced graduate course for students who have successfully completed an introductory graduate-level course covering the basics of solid state physics at the level of PHZ 6426 Solid State I. Prior completion of PHZ 7427 Solid State II is also desirable. The course covers a selection of methods used to treat many-particle systems and applications of those methods to topics in modern condensed matter physics.

Note that the class meets Monday period 6 (12:50-1:40 p.m.), Wednesday and Friday period 9 (4:05-4:55 p.m.). All lectures are held in NPB 1011.
