Travel from Tallahassee to Gainesville and the University of Florida
It is about 155 miles by road from the Capitol Building in Tallahassee to the University of Florida. The drive takes about 2.5 hours under favorable conditions.
Driving Directions
- From Tallahassee, take I-10 East for 85 to 100 miles (depending on where you join I-10).
- Leave I-10 at Exit 296A (I-75 South).
- Take I-75 South for approximately 48 miles.
- Leave I-75 at Exit 387 (SR 26, Newberry Road).
- Turn right off the exit ramp and head east along SR 26, which at first is called Newberry Road, but after a couple of miles becomes W University Avenue.
- About 4.2 miles from I-75 you will come across the University of Florida campus on your right.
- To enter the campus, turn right onto Gale Lemerand Drive, passing between large brick entrance signs.
