Cooking Without Fossil Fuels

In this chapter, we address the issue of how we will obtain, store and cook food without the use of fossil fuels in the Florida Solar Cracker House.

Modern stoves and ovens offer instant access to electricity or gas for cooking, so that almost no planning is required to prepare a meal. Cooking without fossil fuels requires a bit more planning, but does not need to equate to inconvenience. The centerpiece of our kitchen will be a Waterford Stanley wood cookstove.
